LaunchBay MCP Connector Overview
The LaunchBay MCP connector gives your AI assistant direct access to your LaunchBay account. Once connected, your AI can find tasks and projects, create work, send client reminders, update statuses, and more, all without you opening the dashboard.

What is MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools and take action inside them. Instead of your AI just answering questions, it can actually do things - in LaunchBay - and in any other tool that supports the protocol.
Because MCP is an open standard, the LaunchBay connector is designed to work with virtually any AI tool that supports it.
What Your AI Can Do Once Connected
After connecting, you can ask your AI assistant to:
- Pull a status report on any project or client
- Find overdue tasks across all active projects
- Create tasks inside a specific project
- Send reminders to clients with outstanding action items
- Comment on tasks to update your team or client
- Mark tasks complete or change their status

Getting Started
MCP connections require a paid plan in most AI tools. Free plans for Claude, ChatGPT, and most other AI assistants do not support custom MCP servers. Make sure you're on a paid or team plan before getting started.

Using a different AI tool?
The LaunchBay MCP connector also works with Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, and other MCP-compatible tools. The process is similar: add a new MCP server, enter the LaunchBay URL, and authenticate with your LaunchBay account via OAuth.
Example Prompts to Get You Started
Not sure what to ask first? Here are a few to try right away:
- "Show me all overdue tasks across my active projects, who they're assigned to, and which ones have been waiting the longest."
- "Find all clients with incomplete tasks this week and send each of them a reminder to complete their outstanding items."
- "In the [Project Name] project, create two tasks for the client: one asking them to upload their signed agreement, and one asking them to upload their remaining brand assets. Set the due date for both to next Friday and mark them as active."
- "Pull all tasks across my active projects that have unread or recent client comments and summarize what each one is asking. Then ask me how I'd like to respond to each one so we can reply to them one by one."
