Task Options Overview
The Task Options section of LaunchBay's Task Composer allows you to embed websites or software apps, attach documents, forms, and files, as well as configure various settings for tasks you create.
This article will explain how each of the Task Options works and provide examples of ways you can use them.
Task Option Categories
In the Task Composer, Task Options are organized into four categories: Attach, Require, Schedule, and Dependencies.

Below, you’ll find an explanation of each category and a breakdown of the individual Task Options within them.
Attach Category
The Attach category includes five options that allow you to add information directly to a task for assignees to view, interact with, or complete.
- Files: Attach files of any type to a task to allow clients to view and download them directly within the task.
- Proofs: Upload files and allow clients or team members to view, annotate, and approve them. Learn more.
- Form: Attach existing LaunchBay forms to tasks, enabling clients or team members to complete them directly within the task. Learn more.
- Contracts: Add PDFs or other files that you’ve turned into electronically signable contracts or agreements, making it easy for clients to review and sign them directly within the task. Learn more.
- Invoice: Attach an invoice directly to a task to collect payment from clients as part of your project workflow. Learn More
- Embed: Embed external tools, websites, or resources directly into a task, so clients can access them without leaving their LaunchBay portal. Learn more.
- Subtasks: Subtasks are useful for multi-step processes where different people are responsible for different parts of the same task.
Require Category
The Require category contains options that allow you to request specific actions from task assignees before the task can be marked as complete.
- File Uploads: Request specific files from the task assignee, requiring them to upload the necessary files directly within the task. Learn more.
- Signature: Add a required signature field to the bottom of a task. This is especially useful for obtaining client sign-off on attached files or deliverables. Learn more.
- Team Review: Add a step requiring a designated team member to review and approve the task before it can officially be marked as complete in LaunchBay. Learn more.
Schedule Category
The Schedule category provides options for setting deadlines and automating task reminders.
- Days Until Due: Set a due date dynamically based on when a task is activated. Instead of choosing a specific calendar date.
- Due Date: Specify a date by which the task must be completed by a client or team member.
- Reminders: Once a due date is set, automatic reminders will be enabled by default. LaunchBay will automatically follow up with assignees until the task is completed. Learn more.
- Recurring: Set the task to repeat on a specified schedule. Recurring tasks are automatically assigned to the designated clients or team members based on the schedule you set. Learn more.
- Request Meeting: Connect your Calendly account to embed a scheduler in the client's portal task — when they book, a meeting is automatically created in both LaunchBay and Calendly with all details pre-filled. Learn More
Dependencies Category
- Dependencies: Control the order in which tasks activate using Dependencies. Dependencies are especially useful for sequential workflows and complex onboarding processes. Learn More
