Managing Companies in the CRM

The "Companies" tab of LaunchBay's built-in CRM allows you to create companies to which you can add clients and provides a full view of the projects, people, and activity related to a specific organization.

This article will explain how to create and manage companies in LaunchBay's CRM, along with the information you can access.

How Companies Work in LaunchBay's CRM

To create, view, and edit companies in the CRM, click "Companies" under "Clients" in the left-hand menu.

On the "Companies" tab, you'll see a list of all the companies added to your account already. In addition to each company's name, email, and phone number, the columns on the right side of the table (explained below) provide additional information about each client.

1. People: The total number of clients associated with each company.

2. Projects: The total number of projects associated with people in the company

3. Revenue: The total amount collected from invoices across all projects associated with the company.

4. Actions: Click to 3 dots to open the actions menu, where you can view, edit, or delete the company.

How to Add Companies to the CRM

To add a new company to the CRM, click the "Add Company" button in the upper-right corner. Then, enter the company's information in the modal window. Only the "Company Name" is a required field.

How to Add Clients to Companies in the CRM

When you create a new company, it will not have any clients associated with it. To add clients to a company, click "Add Person" in the top right corner. If you have an existing client in your CRM that you want to associate with this company, you can do this from the People tab.

📣 Note: If a client is associated with a company, LaunchBay will display the company name in the Client column for easy identification. However, associating a client with an existing company does not automatically grant them access to the same projects as other clients from that company. To give any client access to a project, you must explicitly invite them and assign them to that project. Click here to learn more.

Viewing a Company Profile

To open a company profile, click on the company name from the Companies tab. At the top of the profile, you'll see a quick-glance summary of the company's key information — name, email, website, and phone number. Click the pencil icon to edit any of these details.

The company profile is organized into the following tabs:

Overview: The Overview tab provides a summary of all items associated with the company — projects, people, invoices, forms, and emails — giving you a high-level snapshot of the full relationship. You can also add a description here to capture any important context or notes about the company.

People: A list of all clients in your CRM who are associated with this company. Click the three dots next to any person to view their full profile.

Projects: A list of all projects associated with the company. Active projects display a progress bar so you can quickly gauge where things stand. Click a project name to open it directly.

Invoices: All invoices across every project associated with the company, rolled up in one view. Click any invoice to view the associated task.

Forms: All form submissions from projects associated with the company. Click any form to view the associated task.

Emails: A complete email history for all people associated with the company, giving your team full visibility into past communications without switching tools.

👋 Tip: When you create a new client in LaunchBay's CRM, you'll also have the option to associate them with a company. Click here to learn more.

How to Edit and Remove Companies in the CRM

To edit or remove a company, click the three dots under the "Actions" column and select an option from the dropdown.

Clicking "Edit" in the dropdown will bring up the exact modal used to create companies and allow you to modify their information.

Clicking the "Remove" action will delete the company from your account. When you remove a company, LaunchBay will ask if you'd like also to remove clients associated with that company. If you select "Yes," clients associated with that company will no longer appear in the "People" tab of the CRM, and they will lose access to any projects you invited them to.
